Club Notes: 29th January 2018

Club Lotto.
Last Saturday’s winning lotto numbers were 12-23-24-28, and there was no winner. €20 winners were Dolores Corcoran, Colum O’ Keeffe, Sofie Casey, Sarah McGrath, and Darragh Casey. Next week’s jackpot will be €2,700.

Training resumes.
A new season, a new coach, and optimism abounds! Next Saturday will see Brendan Landers from Lismore take the lads through their paces for the first time. Brendan has a lot of experience coaching a lot of different teams, and he was coaching the Lismore Camogie team that were beaten in the All Ireland semi final last Sunday against Athenry. We wish Brendan, Mike Leahy, Padraig Tobin, and John O’ Donovan all the best for the coming season.

Cois Bhride AGM.
Congratulations to Junior football selector Declan Butler who has been elected Chairman of our juvenile club Cois Bhride. Declan takes over the reins from David Henley who did sterling work over the last few years in charge, along with our own Sinead Lenehan as Secretary. Colin Cunningham takes over Sinead’s job, the evergreen Aidan Ryan continues as Treasurer, and the club is in safe hands. We wish them all the best for the coming year.

Deise go down to Wexford.
Waterford looked a bit rusty last Sunday and played second fiddle to a rejuvenated Wexford team who are full of confidence at the moment. Tipperary in Thurles next Saturday night will be another tough test and they also have to go to Nowlan Park. No easy matches ahead!
