Club Lotto
The numbers drawn last Saturday 9th November were 16-17-20-23, and there was no winner. €20 winners were Margaret Maher, Larry McGrath, Lorraine O’ Sullivan, Mags Ormonde, and Monya Stanley. Next week’s jackpot will be €13,150, edging upwards all the time.
Thomas Goulding.
Well it’s been quite a year for former Shamrocks star Thomas Goulding, Kilwatermoy, now domiciled in Liverpool. First of all he was in the All-Ireland Junior Club final with Fullen Gaels, which, unfortunately they lost, then he lined out in goals with Warwickshire in the Lory Meagher final when they beat Longford 2-16 to 0-10 to lift the Lory Meagher trophy. Then to crown it all off, he was named in goals on the Lory Meagher All-Star team of the year last week by the GPA and GAA. No mean achievement. Well done Tom from all in the club.
And while we’re on the subject of All-Stars, many congratulations to Seamie Harnedy of St. Ita’s on his selection at half forward on the 2013 All-Star team. Seamie is of course son of former Shamrock star Sean Harnedy, and he certainly also had a year to remember as probably the most impressive newcomer to the Cork team in 2013. Congratulations to both men.
Munster Club Championship.
Passage narrowly failed in their bid to reach the Munster final in the senior club championship last Sunday when they lost out to a very determined Na Piarsaigh team from Limerick in the Gaelic Grounds, Limerick. They certainly gave it everything, and were right in the match up to the end.
Next Sunday Ballysaggart take on Grenagh from Cork in the Junior club Championship in the Fraher Field, Dungarvan, and I really believe they have a great chance of making it to the semi-final. We wish them the best of luck, go on and do the West proud!
Mary Coughlan R.I.P.
The Shamrocks would like to extend their condolences to the family and friends of Mary Coughlan, Ballyhamlet, Kilwatermoy, who passed away last Wednesday. Mary was the Chapel woman in Kilwatermoy Church for many years, a true lady. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.
