Lotto
Numbers drawn on Monday 14th June were 6, 10,15, 26 There was no jackpot winner (€6,450) €20 draw winners: John O’ Donovan (On Line), Shane Roche (On Line), Mike O’Neill, Bernard Flynn, Pat Murphy Kilmeaden.
Next week’s jackpot is €6,600 and the draw will be on Monday 21st June. Lotto tickets are on sale from promoters and online. We would especially encourage people to use the online facility during Covid restrictions. Hurling Challenge:
Our Intermediate hurlers played Bride Rovers in a challenge. It was good to start with a win with a few of our younger players playing well on the night.
Junior Football League
Shamrocks Junior footballers got their league campaign off to a winning start in knockanore last Saturday evening with a 7 point win over John Mitchels. The visitors were first on the scoresheet with a point, but Shamrocks settled quickly with points from Padraig Ahearne, Billy Hynes (3) and Billy also pounced for a goal. John Mitchels rallied after the water break to add three more points but Shamrocks finished the half with further points from Kieran Crawford, Billy and sub Cathal O Neill to lead by 1-7 to 0-4 at half time.
Shamrocks began the second half like the first with a point from Tom Dalton and a superb opportunist goal from sub Ciaran Hunt. Further points from Colm Roche, Billy Hynes, Edward Lonergan and Padraig Aherne left Shamrocks with a comfortable lead at the second water break. To give John Mitchels their due they came back into the game with a goal and three points. The sides traded further points with Chris Murphy and Billy Hynes to leave the final score Shamrocks 2-14, John Mitchels 1-10.
