Lotto
Numbers drawn on Monday 20th September 2021 were 8,19,21,22 There was no jackpot winner (€8,550) €20 draw winners: Aine Ormonde, Mark Geary, Michael Collins, Katie Hegarty, Bart O’ Donoghue.
Next week’s jackpot is €8,700 and the draw will be on Monday 27th September 2021. Lotto tickets are on sale from promoters and online. We would especially encourage people to use the online facility during Covid restrictions. Junior Hurling Western Semi Final
On Sunday our Junior Hurlers took on Old Parish in the Western Semi final. Shamrocks started well with scores from Kelvin O Farrell Jamie Murphy and Cathal Herlihy. Shamrocks suffered an early setback when Evan Russel had to leave the field with a knee injury. Shamrocks opened up a lead after the first water break with points from Bernie Kelliher, Kelvin O Farrell and Brian Harnedy. but this was pegged back by an Old Parish goal when the Shamrocks defence failed to clear their lines. Alan Kelly tested the OldParish Keeper before half time but he managed to keep Kelly’s shot out leaving the half time score Shamrocks 0:07 Old Parish 1:04.
Old Parish started the second half better, scoring three points to one from Alan Kelly. Jamie Murphy then added another for Shamrocks to leave the minimum between the sides. A score for each side Shamrocks score coming from Alan Kelly. Shortly after this came the turning point of the game after a number of players got involved in a shemozzle, the referee red carded Alan Kelly. With the advantage of the wind and an extra man, Old Parish hit the next four points opening up a fivepoint lead. Kelvin O Farrell got one back for Shamrocks but Old Parish added three more points opening the gap to seven. Jamie Murphy got two back for Shamrocks but they were not able to find the goal they needed to get them back into the game. Well done to every player who battled to the end. The Final Score was Shamrocks 0:13 Old Parish 1:15.
