Lotto

Numbers drawn on Monday 6th September 2021 were 8,10,23,26  There was no jackpot winner (€8,250) €20 draw winners:  Jane Murphy, TJ McSweeney, Bernie Irwin, Sean Murphy (On Line) Colm Roche (On Line)

Next week’s jackpot is €8,400 and the draw will be on Monday  13th September 2021. Lotto tickets are on sale from promoters and online. intermediate Hurling Championship:

Our Intermediate Hurlers played the second round of the Championship on Saturday against St Mary’s. Starting the game without the injured pair of Colm Roche and Joe Leahy. This game ended in a draw on a scoreline of  Shamrocks 2:18 St Marys 1:21. 

With both sides exchanging early points the score was level at the first water break at 7 points each with the Shamrocks scores coming from Pardaig Hynes 3, JP Lucey 2, and one each from Tom Dalton and Shane Roche. After the water break St Marys took the lead and were ahead by one point at half time on a score line of 0:10 to 0:09. Shamrocks scorers were Tom Dalton and Padraig Hynes. 

At the start of the second half Shamrocks got on top and overturned the half time lead with points from Billy Hynes, Edward O’ Neill, Padraig Hynes 2, and Edward Hynes. At this point Tom Dalton received a serious leg injury and play was halted while he received medical attention. On the resumption Padraig Hynes added two more points but St Marys could not be shaken off scoring three points to leave the score 16 points all at the second water break. 

After the water break Shamrocks opened a two point gap with points from Colm Roche who was introduced for the injured Tom Dalton and another from Padraig Hynes. St Marys then regained the lead scoring a goal and two points. Edward Lonergan then struck for Shamrock’s first goal, leveling things up again. St Mary’s again added three points and led by three. With three minutes to play Colm Roche struck Shamrocks second goal to level things up at Shamrocks 2:18 St Mary’s 1:21. Both sides had chances to win the game but the score ended level. 

We now play Stradbally in a must win game if we want to qualify for the knockout stages of the competition

Junior hurling 

On Sunday our Junior Hurlers took on Stradbally in the final game of the league stages. This was a very tough game with scores hard to come by . The half time score was 6 points each. With minutes remaining Stradbally got a goal putting them 3 points up but with a long ball dropping to the net and a point added by Kelvin O Farrell Shamrocks held out to win by one point.   on a scoreline of Shamrocks 1:08 Stradbally 1:07

With a bye in the final round we have to wait on other results to see if we progress to the semi final of this competition.
