Junior Football Championship Western Final

Our Junior footballers defeated Dungarvan on a score of 0-14 to 1-8 after extra time at the weekend in the Western Final and by doing so the Doocey Cup will remain in Knockanore for the 6th time in 8 years. After agonisingly losing at this stage  last year to Ballyduff, our players made sure from the start that it would not happen again.. In tough conditions, the lads played dazzling football against a good Dungarvan side. The new 2 pointer rule may divide opinion in GAA circles, but it certainly worked to our advantage as Billy Hynes and Adam Crawford produced 2 outstanding scores each from outside the arc which really was the winning of the game. Well done to all players and management, and a special mention to all supporters who made the effort to support the lads in hideous conditions.
