All Ireland Champions.
Congratulations to the combined Dungarvan Colleges team of St. Augustines and CBS on their terrific win in the All Ireland Colleges “A” final last Saturday when they defeated Kilkenny CBS in Thurles. Always the dominant side they withstood a second half rally to win by five points so becoming only the second Waterford side to win an All Ireland after De La Salle. With St. Augustines having already won an All Ireland football title last week, and Dungarvan CBS contesting an All Ireland final next week, Dungarvan is where it’s all happening at the moment. Well done to all associated with this great win that can only bode well for Waterford hurling.

Junior Football.
The first championship match of 2013 takes place next Saturday evening in Lismore at 7pm when Shamrocks Junior footballers play Tallow in the first round. Defeat to Tallow by a single point in last year’s semi-final should provide all the incentive to our lads for this match, so we anticipate a lively game next Saturday. Come along and give them your support.

Waterford Minor Hurling.
Best of luck to Colm Roche who lines out for the Waterford Minor Hurling team tomorrow night (Thursday 11th April) in Walsh Park when they take on reigning All-Ireland minor champions Tipperary. Best of luck to them all from all in the club.

Shamrocks Ladies Football Club.
Our lady footballers are holding a recycling collection which has been ongoing for the last few weeks, but comes to an end this Saturday 13th. They will accept men’s, women’s & children’s clothing, household textiles, toys, shoes, handbags, belts, books, and old mobile phones between 10am and 12pm at the Shamrocks G.A.A. clubhouse, Knockanore on Saturday.

Sympathies.
Shamrocks G.A.A. Club would like to offer it’s sympathies to the friends and family of Fr. Jim Griffin P.P. a native of Killorglin, co. Kerry, Parish Priest of Sacred Heart, Waterford, and former Curate of Knockanore, Glendine and Kilwatermoy, who passed away recently. Fr. Griffin came to the parishes in the late 70’s and was very well liked in the community, then in the 80’s he moved to Dungarvan but retained ties with the area for many years.
Our sympathies also extended to Margaret Keane, Ballymoate,Tallow on the death of her sister Teresa Risdon which occured recently. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.
