Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship

In our last group game of the Championship we came away with victory against Clashmore/Kinsalebeg which took place in Cappoquin on Sunday afternoon. Wind assisted in the first half, we started brightly and managed to tick the scoreboard early and build up a slender lead. Clashmore as always, kept in the game and we managed to hold a 5 point lead going in at the break. With the wind at their back Clashmore did their utmost to eat into our lead. With 5 minutes remaining they goaled to make the game level. When resilience and leadership was needed, our lads delivered and managed to get the last 3 points of the game to finish with a 3 point victory. It's clearly evident the improvement in our play every week since our first outing 3 weeks ago, also the performances from our younger players which is positive to see.

With the group stages completed, the knockout phase begins, where we play Tallow this Sunday at 6.15pm in Cappoquin in a preliminary Quarter Final. Come along and support the lads.

Match Sponsorship

Thanks to Angela Allen who sponsored the sliotars for last weekend's match against Clashmore/Kinsalebeg. If interested in sponsoring, please get in touch with a club officer. As always all sponsorship is greatly appreciated.

Birthday Celebrations

Everyone in the club would like to wish TonyO'Brien a happy 70th birthday. Tony has been a great follower of the club over the years and a loyal supporter of the club lotto.

Mayo for Sam

There aren’t many people who could have begrudged Mayo's historic win at the weekend. Their triumph is a reminder of why we all love sport. The underdog should never be underestimated. Heart, belief and teamwork can outweigh reputation and expectation, proving that with enough grit and courage, any team can rise to the occasion and achieve something truly special
